VISA
Generally, here is a guideline for international students planning to study in Kazakhstan, however visa requirements and policies are subject to change so it's essential to check and verify the information with the latest official sources.

  • Student Visa Types
Kazakhstan typically offers two main types of student visas (category C9):
    • Short-term Student Visa (up to 90 days): This is suitable for language courses, pre-university programs, and short-term courses.
    • Long-term Student Visa (more than 90 days): This is for students planning to pursue degree programs in Kazakhstan.
  • Visa Application Process
    • Contact the Kazakhstani embassy or consulate in your home country to inquire about the specific requirements and procedures.
    • Usually, you will need to provide an acceptance letter from a recognized educational institution in Kazakhstan, a completed visa application form, a valid passport, proof of financial means, and a medical certificate.
  • Invitation Letter
You will likely need an official invitation letter from the educational institution in Kazakhstan where you have been accepted. This letter is crucial for the visa application process.

  • Health Insurance
Some countries require proof of health insurance for the duration of your stay. Check with the embassy or consulate for specific requirements.

  • Financial Requirements
You may be required to provide proof of financial means to cover your tuition fees and living expenses during your stay in Kazakhstan.

  • Language Proficiency
Depending on the language of instruction in your chosen program, you may need to demonstrate proficiency in Kazakh, Russian, or another relevant language.

  • Registration
Upon arrival in Kazakhstan, you may need to register with the local migration police within a certain period.

  • Medical Examination
Some countries may require a medical examination as part of the visa application process.

  • Work Permits
If you plan to work part-time during your studies, check the regulations regarding work permits for international students.

Always check the official website of the Kazakhstani embassy or consulate in your home country and the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan for the most up-to-date and accurate information. Additionally, contact the university or college where you plan to study for guidance on the visa application process.
